My deepest apologies to my readers – life truly IS crazy sometimes, and this past year has been no exception! So much has happened that it’s almost impossible to catch you up on everything, but in a nushell: my boyfriend and I moved into our own place, I have maintained employment at an area casino for 15 months, and now we are 18 weeks pregnant. Yep – pregnant at 40 years old. It was quite the shock, but we are excited to be parents.
Strangely enough, this is actually our second pregnancy – the first, sadly, ended in miscarriage somewhere between 6 and 8 weeks back in September. Imagine my surprise when I tested positive for pregnancy again a mere 6 weeks later. God sure has an odd sense of humor. Weird that we had both already accepted the fact we’d never be parents and then find out that we would just be old parents. Humorously, I think it’s a throwback to my mom’s parents, who had her at 40+ as well. Though, she had 5 other siblings ahead of her, so definitely not entirely the same…for that I’m actually quite grateful.
Anyway, I wanted to write a short note to let you know that I am likely not going to be continuing this blog, as my priorities in life have changed. If I am able to continue in the future, I will, but for now I remain focused on my work and growing our little “Squishy,” due in early August. Please accept my sincerest apologies, and take care! Maybe I’ll see you in the future!
